Shay Myerson (b. 1993, Los Angeles, CA) is an artist and social worker working across sculpture, installation, moving image, and performance. Her practice considers the social and psychic life of materials, and the ways objects accrue personality, authority, and behavioral force. Drawing from systems of decoy, surveillance, protection, and display, her work examines how resemblance and material cues organize attention, belief, and belonging. She maintains a separate practice in social work and psychotherapy. Myerson received her MFA and MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and is based in Los Angeles.
